My wife and I have been fishing for the last 5 years together all over the U.S. and no where has the fishing and camaraderie

been more fun. Everyone in the campground shares tips and stories and that includes several guides that use Uncle John's fish camp as a

home base. We have gone as far as moving our trailer to the campground. I would recommend Uncle John's

to the novice and the veteran steelheaders.

Absolutely fantastic time! I've been a trout fisherman for years, then my friend Eric told me about the steelhead fishing up

in Erie, PA. We talked about it for awhile until the time finally came to book our trip. We reserved a cabin for a couple of

days at Uncle John's and when it was all said and done, we wished we could have stayed longer. Not only was the fishing good, Uncle John

and family really made us feel like we were part of their family. The location of the campground blew my mind. Literally, I walked out of the

cabin, and was fishing within 50 feet! Night fishing was a blast as well. Thank you again for making this an experience I'll never forget. Now

that the steelhead has ruined me for life, this trip will turn into a yearly event. Thank you again, your friends from Summit Racing.

I live in New York City and make at least an annual homage to Elk Creek and what my brother Peter calls the Steelhead

Capitol of the World. Uncle John's spot is always a favorite. He has an amazingly special section of Elk with long runs and

deep pools that seem to hold the best density of steelhead per sq foot than any part of Elk. Convenience can't be beat as you

park close to the river with easy access to the best holes. Because he is so close to the mouth of Elk, I have always hooked on to

a fresh and feisty steelhead who has given me a fight to remember; it's addictive. In addition to the great fishing, Uncle John is

a force of nature himself; one of the happiest guys I know who always makes you feel better -- a personality you cannot miss!
